The Local Authority Social Work Services Groups (LASWS) are groups aimed at ensuring effective communication between Scottish Local Authorities, the Scottish Government and Inspectorates who have an interest in the collection of, or monitoring of, statistical information from local authority social work services departments.
The groups involved in matters relating to Children, Young People and Social Care are:-
LASWS Children and Families Group
LASWS Children and Families Implementation Group
The primary role of the LASWS Children and Families Group is to discuss and agree any proposed changes to existing data specifications or the setting up of new data collections, and to discuss issues that are relevant to the gathering of social work data.
Following decisions made by the LASWS Children & Families Group, the main purpose of the LASWS C&F Implementation Group is to establish and report on the impact of implementing changes to data specifications and the method of data exchange, helping inform the production of timetables and the recording of key deliverables and milestones.
